A SCN member recently went to the Chicago Sun-Times Sports Collectibles Convention in Rosemont, IL. He was nice enough to bring along two 1962 Topps Orlando Cepeda cards for me.

Earl the Pearl Monroe Signing

We were surprised to hear that Earl Monroe was going to appear at Kmart in Edgewater, MD. He was there as a special guest to promote a new line of shoes…Protege. Also appearing was Al Harrington and Fat Joe although we didn’t end up getting them to sign.

I expected the line to be really long, but we only ended up waiting for about 45 minutes. I didn’t think it was that bad especially with him being a Hall of Famer at a free signing. The line was so short that they even allowed two autographs per person.
